In the face of adversity, he took a bold step and reached out to his lender and initiated a negotiation for debt settlement. What happened next was incredible. He offered R50,000 in cash to settle the loan, and they accepted.
The journey to becoming debt-free had its share of challenges. In 2016, with just R2,000 in the bank and a family to support, he relied on a credit card with a R14,000 limit to survive.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t settle the credit card until I once again was without a steady income. The debt collector’s relentless calls and threats loomed over me. But I resolved to find a way and I did.
From this experience and what other professionals go through, I had a profound understanding:
